Sekonic Spectrometer C-800
This spectrometer captures a full spectral reading of any light source and uses that data to calculate exposure, color temperature, and other lighting values with a high degree of accuracy. Rather than relying on simplified filtered sensors, it samples light across the visible spectrum, which lets it correctly evaluate LEDs, fluorescents, HMIs, and other sources with irregular spectral output that can trip up conventional meters.
It reports its findings using a spectral similarity index that shows how closely a given light source matches a reference standard, making it easy to spot color-rendering problems before they show up on camera. With a wide color temperature range and sensitivity down to very low light levels, it's built for cinematographers and gaffers who need to confirm that mixed lighting setups will match cleanly in post.
